I talked to Crutchfield about replacing the blown OEM ML sub woofer in my Lexus. They said it would fit with minor modifications. I spent the weekend cutting metal and modifying the wiring harness. Everything turned out well, but it was much more than I bargained for. It was a lot less than $860 the dealer wanted. The new sub woofer sounds much better than the ML OEM unit. I paid a premium when it first came out, but it was worth it!This 10inch sounds completely different than the other 10 inch kickers that are for sale; It honestly feels like a 12 inch sub. On occasion I have put it on maximum gain and boosted (a kicker amp) as much as I could, and the speaker did not blow. I have used this baby almost every day for 3 days, and it has not failed me once. Not usual for a full-size pick up in my area to have something that hits, and even less for it to play hip hop music.I have them wired in parallel and have an amp pushing them at 400 Watts and they sound great. I would definately recommend these to anyone looking for quality 10's at an inexpensive price. However, I am wanting to upgrade to 12's already because I want the bass to hit even harder. But you cannot go wrong and these are great for people with pick up trucks, with limited spaces. |
